About
The sandy southern end of Abersoch bay, just south of the village and backed by Abersoch Golf Club. Machroes is where much of Abersoch's boating starts, because the slipway here is a busy launch point for sailing dinghies, RIBs and jet skis. On summer days it's the place to watch the water. There's a pay car park by the slipway, and wooden groynes break the long run of sand north toward Abersoch Main Beach.
Parking: pay car park at the Machroes slipway, with toilets at the southern end.
Dogs are banned from May to September and allowed the rest of the year.
There are no lifeguards. Look out for powered craft and vehicles around the slipway, and for sandbanks where you can get cut off by the tide.
It's good for sailing, windsurfing, paddling and kayaking.
