What it costs — and why it’s a pound
Your listing is free. Not free for a trial — free, full stop. Map pin, contact details, opening hours, your own page. If you never spend a penny with us, you stay on the map.
That’s deliberate. A directory with gaps is useless to everyone, so we’d rather have every Llŷn business on it than a tidy little club of people who paid.
Founder 200 — £53 a year. That’s just over £1 a week — one pound for the week, one for LL53.
One pound. A week. Less than the coffee you drink while doing the books.
Put it next to anything else you spend money on to get customers:
- A single small ad in the local paper, once, costs more than a whole year here.
- A booking site takes 15–20% commission — on a £400 week, that’s £60–£80 gone from one booking. More than a year of Founder, from a single guest.
- Sell one extra coffee and a cake a week and it’s paid for. One extra B&B night pays for two years.
- Boosting a Facebook post for a fortnight costs about the same — and then it’s gone.

Locked for life means locked for life
Founder members pay £53 a year for as long as they keep their listing. Not “£53 for the first year”. Not “£53 then we’ll review it”. The rate does not move — not when we add features, not when the site gets busier, not in five years.
And then the price goes up
There are just 200 Founder places. When they’re gone, the standard rate is £120 a year — more than double.
That isn’t a squeeze; it’s just what it’s worth once the peninsula is fully listed and the traffic is there. The Founder rate is the discount for backing it early, when it still needed backing.
So the only question is whether you join before or after the 200 fill. Same listing. Same features. Less than half the price, forever.
What Founders get that free listings don’t
- Photos and video — a free listing is text and a pin; a Founder listing looks like somewhere you’d actually go.
- Daily specials and flash deals — post “two courses £15 today” from your phone at 9am and it’s live on the site by breakfast.

Prices shown include VAT where applicable. Founder rate is locked for as long as you keep your listing; the standard rate may rise as the site grows and gets busier.

From 1 October 2026, every accommodation provider in Wales — every cottage, B&B, caravan and campsite — must register with the Welsh Revenue Authority. It’s the law, and there are penalties for missing it. Cyngor Gwynedd decides on 24 September 2026 whether a visitor levy follows here: £1.30 per person per night, every penny reinvested in the beaches, paths and communities that make the Llŷn what it is.
You can see this as more paperwork landing on people who already work every hour the season gives them. Or you can see what it really is: a moment for the peninsula to decide who runs its visitor economy.
Right now, when someone books a week on the Llŷn through the big platforms, around 15% of that booking leaves the peninsula before a single bed is made — off to San Francisco and Amsterdam. Multiply that across every cottage, every season. That’s not a fee; that’s a harvest. And it doesn’t have to be ours to give.
